Good Plumbing Supplies: Toilet Trouble Fixers
An overflowing toilet is a serious problem, not to mention intensely frustrating, especially when you and other people need to use it. However, a flooding toilet need not become a plumbing crisis. As long as you have the proper plumbing supplies, toilet trouble need not be the end of everything.
The first thing you need to do is to remove the lid of your tank. You will see a flapper valve at the bottom that seals the tank drain until you press the flush handle. Push the flapper valve down securely in its seat. Next, tighten the shut-off valve to turn off the toilet's water supply. If you can't find it, you may need to shut down the main water supply of your home.
As plumbing supplies, toilet plungers work really well. However, if plunging vigorously doesn't work, you will need to snake the toilet. Also known as a closet auger, toilet snakes are very useful plumbing supplies toilet-wise. Push the toilet snake into the hole until it comes into contact with any obstruction which you will need to gently pull up.
Unclogging a stuck toilet is not a pleasant task. It is neither pretty nor does it smell lovely, either. However, being able to do so with proper plumbing supplies, toilet trouble need not cost you the money to pay for a professional plumber to do the job.
Don't despair when faced with these kinds of plumbing woes. The best thing to do is to repair a potential problem early and make sure you are equipped with good plumbing tools. This way, it won't develop into a severe predicament later that couldn't be fixed with plumbing supplies, toilet-based or otherwise.
